Technology is rapidly expanding the ways we connect with others in our personal and professional lives. How can we expand our advancement toolbox and effectively use these social networking tools? This interactive workshop will provide an introduction to well-established and emerging technology-based social networking platforms, including a focus on increasing familiarity with the special features of individual tools like Facebook and LinkedIn. Ideas for incorporating technology-based networking into work with students, alumni, donors, and other stakeholders also will be addressed and brainstormed as a group.
Leading & Managing Successful Teams
The economy’s shifts in the past few months have had profound impacts on our work as advancement professionals. As we try to do more with less and refocus on core missions, we’ll need to collaborate and partner even more. Whether it’s leading and managing a project or an entire advancement team, how can we make the most of the skills and resources available within our workgroups? In this workshop you'll learn tips on how to lead from wherever you are in your organization and strategies for creating and maintaining team dynamics that are productive and results-focused. We’ll also learn from each other and brainstorm viable techniques for weathering the current economic difficulties.
