NAADA Connections

From the President

Jamie Lucero, NAADA President

It’s hard to believe that a month has already passed since our time in Columbus.  I know I left rejuvenated with new ideas to integrate into our programming at Virginia Tech and with new friendships and connections made across the country.  Pat Whittington and his team at The Ohio State University and the Education Committee went above and beyond to offer a conference bursting at the seams with outstanding sessions, a myriad of opportunities to network, and even an opportunity to give back through a service project.

As an organization, we seized an opportunity at this year’s annual conference to garner a greater level of support for our endowment funds.  And with true team spirit our members joined together to contribute $2,778.  47% of our conference attendees answered the call to giving not only their time and talent, but also their treasure to our organization!  Special thanks to Kirby Player for leading this call to action!

If you didn’t have a chance to join us in Columbus, this issue is packed with content to get you up to speed.  You’ll find links to all of our well-deserving recipients from the always emotional awards program and our NAADA annual report.  Should you have any questions about the annual report please feel free to reach out.
We are gearing up all of our committees in the next couple of weeks with new committee chair appointments and plans of work.  Please, if you didn’t have a chance to raise your hand in Columbus, please check out the link to submit your name and interest.  The success of NAADA depends on all of our volunteer efforts.  I promise you won’t regret it!

I want to recognize one more time our retiring board members and thank them for sharing their time and talent with our organization:

Chris Delisio
Sennah Honea
Darrin Hubbard
Kathy Kennel
Naomi Knaub
Catherine Maxwell
Kim O’Neill
Mary Ann Parsons
Jennifer Shike

Thanks to everyone for a great year.  I’m looking forward to what the coming year brings for our organization!

See you in Boise next summer!

Volunteer for NAADA

Volunteers are at the heart of NAADA’s work. Because of the contributions of volunteers’ time, talent, and expertise, NAADA is able to provide the essential information and tools, vibrant community, and exceptional experiences that we all value so highly. Together, we accomplish incredible things and move the organization forward.

We are currently seeking dedicated members for several of our volunteer groups. These groups assist NAADA in identifying and creating relevant content as well as participate in the work of NAADA in partnership with staff. Being a volunteer will help NAADA accomplish its goals to continue to provide useful and innovative tools to association professionals. We need your skills, passion, and varied perspectives to build an energetic, inclusive, and innovative corps of volunteer leaders. To find an opportunity, access more information and indicate interest in volunteering for NAADA click here.

The deadline for responding to this Call for Volunteers is August 18th. Your thoughtful responses to the questions posed on the form will be read carefully and will help us seat the most appropriate, diverse, and inclusive teams possible.
