NAADA Connections

From the President

Keith BarberDear NAADA Friends,

Happy 2015! Hopefully you enjoyed a relaxing break over the holiday season. We all need those times to reflect and rejuvenate. By the time you read this, though, the magic of a new year has probably already faded and the tasks, objectives, and challenges of a new season are evident. May you approach the entire year with anticipation and excitement!

What does 2015 look like for our association? As the NAADA Board prepares for its February meeting, we will measure our progresses against our annual work plans, listen for new concerns and opportunities, and finalize the agenda for the annual conference.  We’ll be bold enough to focus on the important issues we see as relevant for our future and hold to the traditions that make NAADA unique. (There are lots of professional societies, but there’s only one NAADA!) All of this will be done in respect of our campuses and with the intent to provide best in class service and education to our members. Thank you for entrusting the leadership to make sound decisions and implement the game plan.

Let’s make this the best year in NAADA’s history!

Keith

2015 NAADA Annual Conference in June!

NAADA Logo

Howdy! We look forward to welcoming you to Texas A&M University for the 2015 NAADA Annual Conference in June! In addition to sharing Texas A&M with you, our goal is to provide you with valuable information to build upon our respective professions in development, alumni relations, communication, volunteer coordination and student professionals. As Texas is in the middle of the country and College Station is in the middle of Houston, Dallas and San Antonio we hope all of you can make this year's conference. The conference kicks off at 1pm Tuesday, June 16 and concludes the evening of Thursday, June 18. We hope this accommodates your travel schedules to see donors who might live here or so you can experience other opportunities in Texas. Keep in mind you can fly directly into College Station too. If you arrive on Monday, June 15 we plan to offer optional tour opportunities or you can bring your clubs and play the recently renovated University Golf Course.

Two new additions to this year's conference will be an Advancement Panel and an Industry Experts Panel. Without giving away too much, these two panels will bring a wealth of expertise on our career fields in an open dialogue that you will not want to miss. Additionally, we are excited to share many of the traditions that make Texas A&M such a unique place like the Corps of Cadets, Yell Leaders, Reveille, Fish Camp and Muster just to name a few. If you don't know what these are, that's okay, we'll show you.

As you are of your institutions, we are proud of Texas A&M. Most important to us, however, is making the NAADA Conference worth your valuable time and resources. Along with the hard work of the Education Committee aligning speakers and planning track sessions, we are packing in a lot of information and a lot of fun into just a few days because everything is bigger in Texas!

And don't worry, we'll make sure you get some good Texas BBQ while you're here. C'mon down and join us in June. We look forward to seeing you!

Thank you and Gig'Em!
