Ag Alumni Association builds future on its proud past

"They hired who?!?"

That sentiment rippled through the Purdue Agricultural Alumni Association in 1990, when the organization named its successor to retiring executive secretary Mauri Williamson, BS '50.

Donya Lester wasn't the conventional choice to replace Williamson. She wasn't a Purdue graduate and had never been employed by the university. She wasn't even a Midwesterner.

Janey, thank you so much for posting this article. What nice surprise when I came to the website today to look for some conference information! I got this wonderful job at Purdue because of my involvement in NAADA. For almost three decades, NAADA has been an invaluable resource for me, a source of professional information and contacts, but also where I've begun some incredible personal friendships. If every member gets just a tenth of what I've gotten from NAADA, their world will be changed forever.
