Daniel T. Anderson, President, Retail Group

Dan Anderson is President, Retail Group of The Andersons, Inc.

Dan began his career with The Andersons in 1979. He held various positions within the agriculture and retail groups including grain operations and operations manager, store manager, retail operations manager, general merchandise manager and Director of Marketing and Merchandising. In1996 he was named as President, Retail Group.

Dan graduated from The Ohio State University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics. He also holds an honorary doctorate degree from Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio. Dan serves on the Board of Directors for Fifth Third Bank of Northwest Ohio. In the community,

Dan serves on the Board of Directors of the Toledo Area Boy Scouts, WGTE Public Broadcasting and St. John’s Jesuit High School.

Dr. Michael V. Drake, President, The Ohio State University

Dr. Drake will be giving remarks at our opening reception.

Dr. Michael V. Drake's service in higher education spans nearly four decades and includes senior leadership roles at universities and national organizations dedicated to advancing education. He became the 15th president of The Ohio State University on June 30, 2014.

His vision for the university’s future focuses on access, affordability and excellence, with an emphasis on groundbreaking research and modern and effective teaching. Other focus areas include deepening the university's community engagement and advancing inclusive excellence and diversity.

As evidence of his steadfast commitment to access and affordability, Dr. Drake directed the university to identify $400 million by 2020 to lower the cost and improve the value of students' Ohio State education. At least $200 million will be generated through administrative efficiencies, and another $200 million will be developed from innovative financing strategies. From July 2005 to June 2014, Dr. Drake served as chancellor of the University of California, Irvine. He also served as a Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology and Education. As chancellor, Dr. Drake played a crucial role in advancing the university's sustainability efforts and increasing minority enrollment.

Prior to serving as UC Irvine chancellor, Dr. Drake served for five years as vice president for health affairs for the University of California system, overseeing academic program policy at the system’s 15 health sciences schools, located on seven campuses.

Michael C. Eicher, President, The Ohio State University Foundation

Michael Eicher will be welcoming attendees at our Conference Kickoff.

Michael C. Eicher leads efforts to realize the full power and potential of The Ohio State University through complete integration and synthesis of the work of marketing, alumni relations and fundraising. He joined the university in fall 2012 and brings three decades of higher education experience to his role as Ohio State’s senior vice president for Advancement and president of The Ohio State University Foundation. Mr. Eicher works to turn the vision of One University into reality by engaging more than 500,000 alumni, sharing the institution’s most compelling stories and expanding private philanthropy to support the university’s core priorities. Mr. Eicher led the university’s But for Ohio State Campaign, which concluded in September 2016. Under his direction, the university’s colleges and units raised a record $3 billion to support five priorities: placing students first, elevating faculty and the academic enterprise, creating modern learning environments, emboldening the research agenda and driving high-impact innovation.

Clark Kellogg, Vice President, Player Relations, Indiana Pacers

Clark Kellogg was appointed to the Ohio State Board of Trustees by Governor Strickland in June 2010. Clark is a TV Color Analyst and receives national notoriety for his work on college basketball telecasts. In July 2010, he was named Vice President of Player Relations for the Indiana Pacers.

Mr. Kellogg has done television commentating for Cleveland State University, the Big East Television Network and ESPN. Since 1997 he has served as a studio and game analyst for CBS' coverage of college basketball. He was the lead studio analyst from 1997-2008 and has been with CBS since 1993.

He is a former first-round draft pick of the Pacers (1982, eighth selection overall) and played five seasons with the team. Chronic knee problems forced him to retire after career averages of 18.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game as well as a unanimous selection to the 1983 NBA All-Rookie Team.

In his free time, Mr. Kellogg volunteers his time and resources to various organizations, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Athletes In Action, United Way, and the American Red Cross.

Mr. Kellogg is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and attended The Ohio State University where he was the Big Ten’s MVP in 1982. He received his degree from Ohio State in 1996.

Dr. Laurie Nichols, President, University of Wyoming

Laurie Nichols is a first-generation college graduate who was raised on a farm in South Dakota. She earned her bachelor’s degree at South Dakota State in Brookings in 1978. She then earned a master’s degree in education at Colorado State University in 1984 and completed a Ph.D. in family and consumer sciences education at The Ohio State University in 1988.

Returning to SDSU, Nichols became dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences in 1994. She took a break from that position to serve as interim president of Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, from 2008 to 2009, then returned to SDSU to serve as provost from 2009 to 2016.

While serving as provost for South Dakota State University, she provided leadership to a 20-member council in developing two 5-year strategic plans. She also guided the campus through two years of budget downsizing including a 10% budget cut in 2011. In 2016 Dr. Nichols became the first woman president of the University of Wyoming. In her first year as president she has guided the university through a transition due to budget cuts while also reaching out to Wyoming’s tribal leaders in an effort to build relationships that would bring more Native American students to the University.


Eric Billings, Director of Development, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Idaho

Eric Billings is a Director of Development in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) at the University of Idaho. With a focus in the area of animal and veterinary sciences, he is responsible for securing major gifts in support of the college's needs. He also works with his team to develop annual giving strategies for CALS. Prior to his current position, Billings served as a Development Coordinator the UI College of Engineering and a Program Center Manager (phonathon) with Ruffalo Noel Levitz at Washington State University and Fresno State. Billings earned a BS in public relations from the University of Idaho.

Jill Brown, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for External Relations IANR / Alumni Development Director, Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Jill Brown works in External Relations at the University of Nebraska.  Her role includes legislative affairs and public relations.

Amy Calabretta, Marketing and Communications Manager, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Idaho

Amy Calabretta is the Marketing and Communications Manager in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Idaho. She is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to enhance and support the strategic goals of the college and UI Extension. She oversees all marketing efforts including websites, social media, digital and print media, advertisements, and the college’s brand efforts. Prior to her current position, Calabretta served five years as Special Events Manager for the central UI Donor Relations and Stewardship department. She has also worked for the UI Career Center as a marketing specialist and for Vandal Athletics as a media relations director. Calabretta earned a BS in public communication from the University of Idaho.

Keith W. Cook, Director of Gift Planning, Penn State University

Keith W. Cook is the Director of Gift Planning at Penn State University.   He has worked at Rutgers University and UNC at Chapel Hill.

Michael Degenhart, Assistant Vice President for Gift Planning, Penn State University

Michael J. Degenhart is Assistant Vice President at The Pennsylvania State University.  He has also worked at Cornell and Syracuse University.

Chris Delisio, Assistant Vice President of Development, The Ohio State University

Chris Delisio serves as Assistant Vice President for Development with The Ohio State University.

Kelly Delp, Director of Development, College of Agriculture, Purdue University

Kelly Delp is a Director of Development from Purdue University, College of Agriculture. She has a BS in Agricultural Communications and MA in Public Relations.

Masha Finn, Alumni Relations College to Career Program Coordinator, College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resouce Sciences, University of Minnesota

Masha Finn has worked at CFANS since May of 2012. In her role, she works to inclusively engage students and graduates in alumni programming with a focus on the Mentor Program, career networking, college access, and industry engagement, along with various signature events and programs of the CFANS Alumni Society. Masha has a background in volunteer coordination and student career development. She graduated from Carleton College with a B.A. in International Relations and French & Francophone Studies (2009), and is working towards a Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Educational Psychology: Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology (expected May 2017). She resides in Minneapolis.

Eileen Gianiodis, Communications Manager, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Michigan State University

Eileen Gianiodis is Communications Manager for the Michigan State University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

John Hill, Network Catalyst, Techstars, Former Higher Education Evangelist at LinkedIn

Traded one passion for another which led me to leave Michigan State University to become the Higher Education Evangelist at LinkedIn. Did it one more time moving from LinkedIn to become the Network Catalyst for Techstars. I have a thing for cool work titles. I also believe "changing the world" can be more than hyperbole. Building relationships and connecting people with opportunity are at my core. I rely heavily on online and offline networks to facilitate each. At Techstars, I'm charged with supporting and growing a global network of tech entrepreneurs, mentors and investors who surround them and the Techstars team. As a speaker, I've often implored others to have the audacity to “Dream Big”. Techstars opened the door for me to live that mantra while supporting others to do the same. Just awesome!

Kelsey Knight, AgriCorps Recruiter, AgriCorps

Kelsey Knight is a University of Kentucky alumni who served in Ghana with AgriCorps in 2015-2016.  She is now serving as the Recruiter for AgriCorps.

Jason Kosovski, Director of Communications, College of Agricultural Sciences, Colorado State University

Jason Kosovski is Director of Communications in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University, managing Strategic Communications.

Casey Kuenn, Freshman Admissions Counselor, College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resouce Sciences, University of Minnesota

Casey Kuenn has been the Freshman Admissions Counselor with the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Minnesota since he graduated from the U of M in 2015. His role is to bring in the Freshman Class that meets the University's and College goals. In order to achieve this he leverages with campus partners and stakeholders in a variety of communities. Growing up in a rural town in Western Minnesota, Casey understand that it takes a village to accomplish any task. He enjoys trying to figure out how to get all stakeholders to bring their unique talents to the table to make the most effective team.

Jamie Lucero, Director of Alumni Relations, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Virginia Tech

Jamie Lucero has worked in Virginia Tech’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences since January 2006. Currently she provides leadership for the college’s alumni organization and its board of directors’ activities. Lucero is responsible for planning special events for alumni, faculty, staff, and students. She is the editor of the college’s alumni e-newsletter and holds a joint appointment with the Virginia Tech Alumni Relations office, where she is responsible for assisting with reunions and other special programs of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association. Jamie is the current president of NAADA.  She received her bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Central Missouri, and a master’s degree in animal science-reproductive physiology from Kansas State University. She is working toward a second master’s degree at Virginia Tech in agricultural, leadership, and community education. She resides in Christiansburg with her husband, Warren, and two daughters, Emma (12) and Madison (8).

Amanda Martin, Director of Recruitment and Retention, College of Agriculture, Louisiana State University

Amanda L. Martin has worked in the College of Agriculture at Louisiana State University since September 2016. Prior to this position she served as the Coordinator of Recruitment & Alumni Relations for the College of Agriculture at Auburn University from 2012-2016 and previously as the Recruitment Coordinator for the Poultry Science Department from 2008 to 2011. She also served as an inaugural member of the TEACH Charlotte Cohort where she taught middle school science at a Title 1 school in Charlotte, North Carolina. In her current position, Amanda is responsible for directing undergraduate recruitment initiatives, planning student programming and retention efforts, and co-advising the Les Voyageurs and Ag Council. A native of Illinois, she earned both a Bachelor of Science (2007) and a Master of Science in Agribusiness Economics (2008) from Southern Illinois University. Amanda and her husband Nick reside in Baton Rouge with their Schnauzers, Duke and Wellington.

Jordan Moseley, Development Officer, College of Agriculture, Auburn University

Jordan serves as the Development Officer for the College of Agricultural at Auburn University.   He has served in this role for three years.  He was in Development in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn two years prior.  Upon graduation from Auburn University in 1994 with a degree in Marketing, he spent 16 years in the wholesale distribution business.    Jordan currently serves as the Awards Chair for NAADA for the past two years, Annual Events chair for Alabama Agribusiness Association, Chairmen of the “Boda Getta BBQ” competition (KCBS sanctioned professional BBQ event).   He enjoys watching his two kids participate in lacrosse and volleyball.

Jera Oliver, Associate Director of Development, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, The Ohio State University

Jera joined the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University as an Associate Director of Development in April 2016. She is primarily responsible for major gift fundraising for the Community Development, Agriculture & Natural Resources, and Family & Consumer Sciences program areas of Ohio State Extension. She also helps fundraise for 4-H. Prior to entering into higher education administration in 2014 at Ohio State, she served as a development officer at several nonprofit organizations in Ohio and Missouri. Jera earned her BA and MPA degrees from Kent State University. She holds a JD as well from Washington University in St. Louis and has completed coursework toward an MBA from Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business.

Kim O'Neill, Assistant Dean, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Idaho

Kim serves as the Assistant Dean of Development and Communications for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Idaho.  While she has served in various positions in her twelve years at the University of Idaho, she now leads the alumni, fundraising, marketing, communications, and publication efforts for research, teaching and extension for the college.  Upon graduation from Washington State University with a degree in Agriculture Education, she taught high school agriculture at a small rural school in Washington.  Kim currently serves as the Membership Chair for NAADA, is on the Moscow Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Latah County Fair Board, the Moscow Farmers Market Commission, and volunteers with her daughter’s local 4-H Club where she leads the dairy project.

Kirby Player, Director of College Relations, College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences, Clemson University

For 28 years, Kirby has been engaged in sustaining a relevant and positive image for agriculture at Clemson and across the state of SC. He has had the honor of fulfilling nearly every role represented by NAADA tracks.  Currently, he is the Director of College Relations at Clemson University.  In this role, Kirby facilitates the successful operation and cooperation of Student, Alumni, Donor, and public relation Services for the college.

A farm boy raised on a on a cotton, corn, wheat, peanut and soybean farm in Bishopville, SC, Kirby earned a BS in Agricultural Education in 1983 from Clemson University, and had the honor of serving as Student Body President of Clemson University in 1982/83.  Kirby completed a Masters degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management with an emphasis in Human Resource Development in 1987 and finally a PhD in December 2014 in Therapeutic Recreation (RT).  For a second chapter at Clemson, Kirby is teaching in the areas of agriculture and RT.   His primary course is Ethics and Issues in Agriculture and the Food and Fiber System where his goal is to make a difference in the lives of his students and produce “AgEvangelists!"

Kirby is married to Marilyn Pilgrim and they are thrilled that they shared their honeymoon with NAADA at the 2008 Hawaii Conference.

Kathryn Reed, Director of Alumni Relations and Special Events, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Michigan State University

Roger Rennekamp, Associate Dean and Director, OSU Extension, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, The Ohio State University

Roger Rennekamp became the 12th director of The Ohio State University Extension on January 4, 2016. He most recently served as Associate Dean for outreach and engagement at Oregon State University. Before this, Roger led Oregon's 4-H youth development program. He also served as Extension specialist in program and staff development and as program specialist for 4-H at the University of Kentucky. Roger earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky, his Master of Science from Morehead State University, and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. Throughout his career, Roger has been an advocate for philanthropy in Extension and is helping to shape and lead efforts to generate more private gifts for this unit at Ohio State University.

Amanda Saha, Director of Career Development and Enrichment, College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, University of Kentucky

Amanda Saha serves as the Director of Career Development and Academic Enrichment at the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment. She is also a certified Gallup Strengths Coach and owns her own coaching and consulting practice in Lexington, Ky.

In her role at UK, Amanda coordinates several annual career fairs and networking events, teaches career development courses, and manages relationships with current and potential employers. She provides coaching and training to various small groups, faculty and staff, and student organizations within the university. Amanda’s role also includes providing direction and counseling to undergraduate students in regards to academic enrichment experiences such as education abroad and undergraduate research opportunities in the college. She has coordinated international service experiences for students in Costa Rica and Mexico and continues to look for ways to increase high impact and affordable travel opportunities for undergraduates.

Amanda was born and raised on a diversified family farming operation in Webster, Ky. She received her bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from the University of Kentucky in 2001 and was awarded a master’s degree in agricultural communication from the University of Florida in 2008. She has also received additional training from the Institute for Life Coach Training.

Carly Schoepflin, Donor/Alumni Relations Coordinator, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Idaho

Carly graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in Public Relations and Political Science after growing up on a dryland wheat and barley farm in central Montana. She has served as the Donor and Alumni Relations Director in the University of Idaho’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences since 2012. In this role, Carly serves as the College Alumni Director, directs the Gifts of Grain program, and manages all special events for the college. Her career has always revolved around relationship building and developing collaborative partnerships, including a job as an account manager at a Seattle-based marketing and promotions firm and at the Ragnar Relay Series as a race director for 200-mile running relays.

Jennifer Shike, Director of Communications and Marketing, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, University of Illinois

Jennifer Shike is Director for Communications and Marketing in the University of Illinois College of ACES, facilitating communications strategy.

Dave Sowers, Senior Consultant, Plus Delta Partners

A Senior Consultant with Plus Delta Partners, Dave has more than 15 years of experience in various capacities of higher education fundraising.

Nathan Thornton, Executive Creative Director, Ologie

A smart and versatile writer, Nathan develops compelling, authentic stories that make brands matter and audiences care. As creative director, he also manages a talented team of designers and writers, guiding their work toward excellence and effectiveness. He has created innovative, successful communications for Saint Anselm College, Pratt Institute, Sewanee: The University of the South, and many others.

Emily Winnenberg, Director of Development, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, The Ohio State University

Emily Winnenberg became Ohio State’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Director of Development in June 2014. Emily is responsible for major gift fundraising for the college with a special emphasis on 4-H and OSU Extension. Before coming to CFAES, she worked in development at Arizona State University, Ohio Wesleyan University and Ohio University, which is where she found her passion for higher-education fundraising as a student worker in the OU Advancement Office. Emily has a bachelor’s degree from the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University. Also, she was a member of 4-H as a youth.
