From the President
Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the celebrations and are ready to kick-off 2019 full of energy and enthusiasm. As a Clemson Tiger we are still celebrating the College Football National Championship (Go Tigers!). Did you make a New Year’s resolution? If you did, that’s wonderful! Want to add one more? If not, I’ve got an idea for you… Resolve to be involved, in NAADA! Right now is the perfect time to get involved because our nominations are open for both Publications & Projects and Individual Awards. Recognize a colleague, submit your projects, but above all consider participating. We have also opened nominations for committee chairs and the offices of Secretary and Treasurer. You can participate in the nomination process by nominating a fellow member or by nominating yourself. If you are willing to serve let us know! The Secretary and Treasurer positions are elected in odd-numbered years and serve two-year terms; you can find more details in the announcements that you already received.
Think you are too busy? Let’s face it, we’re all busy, but getting involved is worth the commitment. You will benefit by learning from advancement professionals across the country (beyond just conference interactions), by learning from our management company staff how to better manage/work with volunteers, and you will grow your network while giving back to your organization. We also have some fun along the way!
Please consider submitting a nomination for a board position, award, or both! Talk to fellow members about their involvement and if you have questions don’t hesitate to contact us. Board members would be happy to share their experiences. Don’t forget to Resolve to be Involved in 2019.
