Ray A. Miller Professional Achievement Award

Eligibility

Any person who is employed by a NAADA member institution at the time of nomination and who has responsibilities with an agricultural alumni, communications, development, or student relations program. To remain eligible to receive the award, the person is encouraged to be present at the national conference.

Description

The Ray A. Miller Professional Achievement Award is given to recognize individuals for significant career activities and accomplishments, leadership activities in professional and community organizations, and other awards and recognitions. Individuals must be employed by a NAADA member institution with responsibilities for agricultural alumni, communications, development or student services. This award is in honor of Ray Miller who was a beloved member of the NAADA family, having served a term as President, Conference Host and Historian. Ray was recognized for his work at The Ohio State University and NAADA in receiving the Professional Achievement Award (1994) and the Founder’s Distinguished Service Award (2003).

Nomination Package

Please be prepared to provide the following:

  1. Personal Development (15%)
    • Colleges and universities attended (dates attended, degrees from each institution)
    • Employment history (employers, dates employed, position(s) held, professional responsibilities)
    • Other relevant training or experience
    • Major area(s) of responsibility in current job
  2. Significant Career Activities and Accomplishments (30%)
  3. Leadership Activities in Professional and Community Organizations (25%)
    • Provide leadership roles or offices held in alumni, communications, development or student services organizations at the institution
  4. Awards and Recognition (10%)
    • Include honors and awards received for alumni, communications, development or student services activities
  5. Why you feel this person is deserving of this award (20%)

In addition, two endorsement letters (PDF or Word only) from the nominee's institution are required. Letters should describe the nominee's career activities and accomplishments, leadership activities in professional and community organizations, and other awards and recognition.
